Dustin and Becca’s Wedding!: The Garden House at Look Park – Florence, MA

I’ve been waiting a long time for this one! Dustin and Becca met up with me about the time of last years Superbowl – so its been well over a year waiting for this day to come! They chose to get married in The Garden House at Look Park, in Florence, MA. This couple is yet another one who really put a bit of themselves into everything – they designed their invitations, made their centerpieces, the bouquets, boutonnieres, etc.

Above is a photo of the card that Dustin got Becca (their honeymoon was in Disney!) – to the right is Becca wiping away a couple stray tears right after reading her card…. good job Dustin!

Dustin and Becca decided to do a ‘first look’. They got a couple blindfolds to make it a little more interesting then what you usually see.

Some fun with the groomsmen – Dustin is kind of a big deal, so he needed to be shielded at times from the camera.

Below is their “guestbook”. You’ve probably seen the fingerprint boards a couple of times, but Dustin and Becca had their own twist to that. Their guests signed their names in balloons!

Whenever I think of uplighting, I always think of kind of plain venues that have light colored walls in which the uplighting is supposed to completely illuminate. Dustin and Becca chose to have uplighting in their venue and it looks fantastic! Even with all the wood, it still brings just enough pop of color and adds depth to the room. I love it!

Becca and Dustin’s DJ, Ra-Mu, did such an AWESOME job of keeping everyone on the dance floor and having fun. I don’t have too many DJ’s on my recommended list – but I am definitely adding him to it! Check out their page at http://www.ramuandthecrewweddings.com/

You know when some DJ’s make jokes and they are not funny? You wont get this from this guy….he was awesome and hilarious, and NOT cheesy.

….and onto dessert! Cake?? Nope! They decided to have some apple cider donuts instead!

This wedding just happened to fall on the same night as this years Super Moon. Ive got a couple photos of couples with sunsets, but this is a first with a Super Moon!

Becca and Jesse’s Engagement Session: Eastern Standard and Beacon Hill, Boston, MA

Becca and Jesse will be getting married later this year in the Fall at the Lippitt House in Providence. They will be going for a more ‘dinner party’ feel more so then the typical wedding atmosphere. Becca moved up to Boston last year, and Jesse is still living down in New York City. They see eachother almost every weekend when he either comes up here, or she goes down there.

For this session they chose one of their favourite places to go when they are together, and that’s Eastern Standard in the Fenway area of Boston. Afterwards we also made a quick stop over to the always beautiful Beacon Hill neighborhood as well.

Here, towards the end of our session, the wind really started kicking up – and along with it came mini leaf filled tornados…oh and a biker that was texting (probably not as noticeable in these two shots, but yes I have proof that his eyes werent on the road! ha) had some good timing too…

Kristin and Nick’s Wedding: The Wayside Inn – Sudbury, MA

Upon first talking to Kristin about their upcoming wedding, I could already tell how non-traditional she was, and how non-traditional the wedding was going to be! Kristin and Nick had their wedding at The Wayside Inn in Sudbury, MA. Instead of having a large affair, they decided to keep it very small with less than 30 people in attendance. Instead of traditional dancing and the like, they opted to have a patio cocktail hour where their guests just mingled and enjoyed themselves, followed by a sit down dinner.

Their ceremony took place in the non-denominational chapel right next door to the Wayside Inn, and was officiated by one of their friends.

In the week leading up to a wedding I always keep a close eye on what the weather will be like since it is so random up here. For days before their wedding all I saw in the forecast was rain, rain, rain! But on the day of, something amazing happened and it actually cleared up!!! Well, until that night atleast…but plenty of time for them to have perfect weather!

The first photo below proves I am not bluffing!!!

Below is Kristin’s bouquet….how neat is that!!! She made it herself! (She also made the centerpieces for the reception tables…photos of that later in this post)

Nick kept having to rub lipstick off of his lips after kissing Kristin throughout the day – haha.

Really though…every year it always seems like we get maybe two weeks of decent 50-70 degree weather, then all the sudden BOOOOM!!! 90+ for the rest of the Spring and Summer. This season its been a little off at times, but for the most part we have had some pretty cool weather for much longer then usual! I am completely loving every minute of it. I’m one of those people who try REALLY hard to not put in the air conditioners until it is COMPLETELY necessary…so there were a couple days in the past few weeks were that was tough, but here we are going into May and the forecast in the next week does not look AC worthy…score!

Coming up later this week/this weekend on the blog will be a brand new intimate wedding which took place at the Wayside Inn located in Sudbury, MA – and also an engagement session which was photographed in Eastern Standard in Boston, MA – and also some Beacon Hill shots as well. Here’s one photo from that session! More to come this weekend!

Jay and Sheyla’s Engagement Session – Worcester, MA

For Sheyla and Jay’s engagement session we went to a couple different locations out in Worcester! They are getting married this August and it was awesome catching up with them on some new details, since I haven’t really talked to them since the fall. (Ummm a party bus instead of a limo?! HELL YEAH!!!!) Their wedding is going to be a blast!

Phil and Heather’s Casino Nightclub Engagement Session! – Hartford, CT

Heather and Phil are getting married this summer at The Society Room in Hartford (love that place!). For their engagement session we decided to do two things – the first being a casual outdoor session at a local Hartford campus. Then we headed down to one of Connecticut’s casinos and took photographs within the club that Phil and Heather actually met at! On busy nights the club is usually so packed you can barely walk around, but we were able to get access on an off night and had the place to ourselves! Very neat! Here are just a few of the photos!

Engagement Sessions…- at night!

So I have a wonderful bride to be who opened up the idea of doing some more night photography. Their engagement session will be later on in June in Boston (hey Steph!), but I figured I should start playing around with it now – and oh boy, I am LOVING IT!!!!

Here’s one shot from a night out with my cousin and her fiance…we just went around in my town of Southbridge and found a few neat spots to try out. These two will be getting married in 2013…guess who the maid of honor is?! OH YEAH!! ME!! I was in a few weddings when I was younger (I was a very cute kid!) – but havent been in one in my adult life so far…let alone being the MOH!

Wait…so who will be doing their wedding photography then?! Uh oh! Looks like I will have to help them figure that out

Kat and David’s 1800′s Themed Wedding: Town Hall of Holliston – Holliston, MA

Okay! So Kat and David were on my blog VERY recently because they ended up having their engagement session done just three days before their wedding! Kat has been working overseas since October, so we couldnt get together any earlier to do it…oh, and did you notice it happened to fall on the ONE day of the month where it actually snowed?! Funny how things work.

Kat and David had an 1800′s themed wedding in Holliston, MA at the Historic Town Hall – which was appropriately built in the 1800′s. They encouraged their guests to dress for the period…and I am so happy everyone went along with it!

Now, once in a while when the girls have different shoes and such I will usually take separate photos and make a small compilation – however, this time they not only had different shoes, but also different hair pieces! So I had to get photos of that. And the guys weren’t left out either…they also earned a compilation this time too because…well, you’ll see.

Below is something that I was not expecting, so I apologize for not having the time to change to the right lens to zoom in more. You can actually see them in the photo above getting ready to do it too….if you didn’t figure it out, its the assassination of Lincoln. And the guy who is playing out Booth’s part, apparently his last name is actually Boothe. Close enough!

Kat and David’s Cheese! Booth – Town of Holliston’s Town Hall Wedding…

So last night was Kat and David’s awesome 1800′s themed wedding in Holliston, MA at the Town Hall (which was also built in the 1800′s. Perfect!) Photos will be up in a couple weeks from their day, but for right now I want to share a couple of the Cheese! Booth photos.

Sometimes, when a couple wants to have the booth set up, it will be me running it depending on the time schedule. Other times I will bring along another photographer – so then the photos end up being quite a surprise to look at afterwards, and last’s nights photos were full of hilarious moments! Here are just a couple, with more up on my facebook page.

I think this was the first time I ever had someone do a hand stand in the booth….. HA! Imagine my surprise when I saw that one!
