A Family Session in Boston…

Franchesa and Alex will be tying the knot this coming June in Boston! We got together for an Engagement/Family session this past weekend…and as with most Two-year olds, their son decided he wanted to run the show! He did not want to stay in one place for long, so it was a little challenge to get them all together – but I think we succeeded in getting some good ones! Sometimes, with small children, you just need to get down to their level. Ha! Here’s their sneak peek!

For those of you who know me, you know that I absolutely adore my dog, and I think that dogs are one of the best creatures on earth. I take photos of mine all the time, and I absolutely LOVE when I am asked to take photos of a pet owner and their pets. Infact, I think photographs with your pets should be taken more often…

This is a far different ‘love story’ than what I usually post on here. Felicia decided it was time to have some photos taken of her and and her dog Bradley (or, more affectionately known as “Burger”). Felicia has recently moved to the big apple, and is away from her Worcester based canine most of the time…Bradley wasn’t really into the idea of getting photographs taken of him, but after some bribes (in the form of delicious treats, ofcourse) he sort of came around.

I like to think that every family has random boxes full of old photos. Mine does. Heck, my siblings and I have our own sections in a huge blue binder with all of our school photos and other things going up through our teenage years.

Starting in middle school, I remember that I would get cheap disposable cameras and pretty much always had one on hand. I have random photos from classes and random walks and hanging out with my friends at the time. These cameras would just be brought to the local CVS to be developed, and later all those photos would just end up in random boxes again. Maybe I didn’t look at them every day or every week, but they were (And still are) there if I want to. They are now one of a kind’s, since I am certain I don’t have any of the negatives anymore…

I hate to admit it, but ever since I was in high school and had a digital camera I never really bothered in making any prints for myself. All my personal photos are stored away on CDs and hard drives. Even my phone photos get put on a folder on my computer. I’ve gotten prints, albums, canvases etc made from photos I have taken of other people, and ofcourse all my wonderful wedding couples, in order to have on hand as samples. Some of these photos are even in my home office and my living room…but I have no personal prints. (Okay, maybe I have two of my dog on my refrigerator, but that’s about it)

So, I hereby make 2012 as the year where I start to make prints and albums for myself!

Here are just a few that are at my parents….

The three kids on the right are my siblings….awww. I am guessing about 1985?

And below, in the middle, is me….the day or day after I was born. I was one cute baby.

This actually makes me REALLY excited and I hope it gives any of you, who may have thought about doing the same, a boost to do so! My hope is that this time next year, maybe I can take some new photos of new albums or wall art of my own personal photos.

A Winter Family Session… but it still looks like Fall!

Usually, I like to keep my winters slow. I prefer to not go out much during these months, and usually only take a couple of weddings or events…not much. I guess I consider it my vacation time after 7-8 months of non-stop working! Well, this winter has been much different…mainly because its been so warm still! Some days this month even got up to 60 degrees, and there has been no snow fall in my town since the random snow storm back in October. So I have a few sessions to post up soon!

This one was with a great family who decided to go for an outdoor session in December! Even though its been warm lately for December standards, its still somewhat chilly – so kudos to them for doing this! I think we are going to be doing a few more sessions soon with them so we can get more variety when everyone isnt freezing and wanting to be done! Haha! They even brought the dog, Stewie!

KISS wedding books!

I’ve used KISS a couple of times for their “little kisses” – mini albums, for some of my smaller sessions.

This is the first time I am ordering their larger albums to have as samples and all I can say is WOW! These things are HOT! They are SMOKIN! I am in love with them, and so is Rigoletto, as you can see below!

Even more awesome was because of the Holiday season, I wasn’t expecting these babies until late January…yet here they are!!! Thank you KISS elves!!! Here are a few quick shots I took of them…I just couldn’t wait!

Cairn Rescue: Meet Houston!

As many of you already know, I have a wonderful little pup named Rigoletto who makes appearances on this website from time to time. Rigoletto is a Cairn Terrier. I absolutely love the breed – so recently I decided to get in touch with one of my favorite organizations to see if I could be of any service to them!

They are called Cairn Rescue ( www.cairnrescue.com ) – and it turned out, they did have a way in which I could help out! I was soon contacted by someone who fosters Cairn’s. Turns out she had a little fella there who was VERY camera shy. Upon reading his foster’s updates on the website, I found that his previous foster home also had troubles with photographing him. So I went over today and gave it a try!

His name is Houston (listed under Connecticut on the Cairn Rescue website) and he was rescued from a commercial breeding facility almost two years ago – and they were right! At first when I stepped outside, Houston and his foster brother were pretty excited to come over and say hello to me! But then as soon as he realized I was about to take a photo, he decided he didnt want that and started walking to the door, and tried squeezing through the small puppy door (even though it was closed).

It was a challenge, and despite him walking away from me, and turning his butt to me the whole time, I was still able to get some good photos of him!

The first photos below are of Houston hiding behind a shed (so you can see how he tried to get away from me!), and also one photo of his foster brother (who was more than happy to let me take a quick shot of him!)

Kristin and Nick’s Boston Engagement Session!

Kristin and Nick will be getting married in April 2012. We decided to take our chances and schedule a mid-November engagement session, and hoped for good weather! After that random snow storm a few weeks ago, who knew what the weather would be like! Luckily for us, the day was absolutely perfect!

Yup, that’s right! My dog, Rigoletto, decided he wanted to photobomb a bunch of Donovan and Amarii’s photos. Once we thought he was through, he just decided to come back again! They didn’t mind too much…they love him!
