Shepherd’s Run Wedding | S + G | South Kingstown, RI
Like many of my couples, these two are living in NYC but returning to New England for their wedding days. They chose a new venue, which at the time wasn’t even completed yet. Its such a gamble to book a venue when large renovations are still happening, but thankfully Shepherd’s Run ended up being such an amazing location.
Venue: Shepherd’s Run // Florals: Floral Fixation // Hair & Make up: The Best of You // Band: Boston Party Machine // Tent Decor: Exquisite Events Decor
Getting ready had that fun, chaotic energy you hope for: friends checking in on each other, goofy jokes, and natural light spilling into the prep rooms so every detail — dress textures, floral bouquets, even spontaneous dance breaks — was worth capturing. Some of the standout frames were shot on film, giving a nostalgic, playful texture to those real, in‑between moments that happen without anyone noticing.
Shepherd’s Run as a wedding venue feels like a world of options in one spot — from garden spaces and vineyard views to both indoor and outdoor areas for ceremony and reception. It’s set on a sprawling estate with old‑world charm and modern event flexibility, so there’s a ton of variety for portraits and candid captures all throughout the day.
At the ceremony, the vibe was relaxed and joyful — no frills, just genuine reactions and lots of good energy circulating among everyone there. Cocktail hour had people mingling across different spaces — the terrace, nearby garden spots, and open lawn areas — which made for great candid shots of guests laughing, sipping drinks, and teasing each other in all the best ways.
Once the music started and the dance floor opened, the celebration really took off. Moments like the bridal party throwing their heads back laughing and guests jumping into group shots under string lights were some of my favorites — those bursts of liveliness that make a wedding feel like a real party.
Every time I go through these images, it’s the bold colors, playful vibes, and the way this couple’s crew didn’t hold back that really stands out. A Shepherd’s Run wedding has a mix of structured spots and open spaces that encourage movement, celebration, and honest reactions — exactly what made this day feel so fun to photograph.
