Crabtree Kittle House Wedding | R + V | Chappaqua, NY

Shooting at Crabtree’s Kittle House in Chappaqua was such a blast. The day was full of personality, laughter, and little moments that make a wedding truly memorable. From the couple’s playful energy to the way their friends and family filled the space, everything felt alive — the kind of day that just wants to be captured on film.
The couple brought so much warmth and fun to their celebration. Between hugs, happy tears, and spontaneous dance breaks, there was never a dull moment. Their joy felt effortless, and it translated naturally into the photos — from candid shots in the gardens to lively moments in the Carriage Room. You could tell they were fully present, soaking in every part of the day.
And the venue? It couldn’t have complemented them better. Crabtree’s Kittle House has layers of character: the timber-framed interiors, the sunlit dining rooms, the cozy corners, and the lush gardens outside. Every space felt like it was made for capturing cinematic, nostalgic film images. I loved experimenting with grainy black-and-white and expired film stocks — the textures and light here respond beautifully to artistic film techniques, giving each photo depth and atmosphere.
What really stood out was how the day flowed. The couple’s personalities guided the pacing, making every moment feel real and fun. Guests mingled naturally between spaces, kids ran through the garden, and quiet corners gave the perfect opportunity for intimate portraits without ever feeling staged. For film photography, these transitions between spaces — indoor, outdoor, sunlit, shadowed — are pure gold.
By the end of the day, it wasn’t just about capturing pretty shots of a venue. It was about celebrating who this couple is, their connections and community, and the energy they brought to everyone around them. Crabtree’s Kittle House gave us the perfect backdrop, but the heart of the story was in the people — full of laughter, love, and cinematic vibes that film photography just eats up.
